They told me on the day of our wedding 16 years ago, that they will never accept me or our children. (I'm Chinese not Jewish and not even closed to be a Russian!) Those are strong words! Especially since your art is beautiful.
There are a lot of Russians in my neighborhood. Sometimes they can seem pushy or short with people, but then I remember that they grew up in Soviet Russia and are accustomed to defending themselves and their families because the system failed to do that for them... And then I don't take it personally when an 85 year old Russian woman tries to cut in front of me in line at the produce mart.

I read your Mother Russia- funny, but true, my in-laws are from Russia, came here in 1976. They still believed their old ways, and told me and my friends that my arts are trash!!
